Source: Greencastle Herald, Putnam County, Indiana 23 March 1911 p 3

Sarah Josephine Hinkle, daughter of Jesse and Louisa Hinkle was born Sept. 30, 1856 and departed this life February 1, 1911; age 54 years and 4 months.  She was married to Wm. A. Ader Nov 18, 1874 and to this union was born eight children, namely: Frank; Carrie; Willard; Emery; Lola; Myrta; Verl and Virgil, all of whom are living except Carrie the eldest daughter, who preceded her to that home above.  She leaves besides these sons, two daughters and a husband, four grandchildren, an aged mother, two sisters, Malissa and Viola, and many friends and relatives to mourn her untimely death. After many months of intense suffering which she bore with usual Christian fortitude, she passed away early Wednesday evening surrounded by all her immediate family except her son, Willard, who but recently paid her a farewell visit and returned to his home in California. At the age of 31 she publicly confessed her faith in Jesus and united with the Regular Baptist Church at Clear Creek.

Well may her loved ones be proud of the exemplary Christian life lived in faithful obedience to the will of her Lord and Savior and although she has now forever laid aside the working tools of life yet the influence of her good deeds will live on and on to bless her family and friends.  As a wife she was a true companion and heldmate (sic - helpmate) not only looking well to the duties of her household but ever ready to go out into the fields if need be at seed time or harvests and lend a helping hand to aid her husband.]The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.W. Thomas of Danville at the home on Friday afternoon, the remains being laid to rest in the Clear Creek Cemetery.   --- kbz
